Microblading F.A.Q.

What is microblading

Microblading is the process of implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a small, sterile, disposable needle to simulate the appearance of natural hair.  Microblading is meant to be a subtle, natural enhancement and to create the illusion of fuller brows.

How long will my cosmetic Tattoo Last?

Cosmetic tattooing is considered semi-permanent as it does not wash off, however pigments are designed to fade over time.  Factors such as skin type, iron deficiency, pigment color (lighter colors fade faster) and sun exposure can affect the rate at which these pigments are broken down.  For best results it is recommended you follow the aftercare instructions and touch-up your tattoo every 1-2 years (or as needed) Microblading does require two sessions. Touch-ups are normal and expected for cosmetic tattoo procedures.

I have had my brows tattooed before, can you fix them/touch them up?

I take corrections and touch-up work on a very limited basis and require anyone who has had their brows tattooed previously by another artist text or email me a picture before booking an appointment. This way we can discuss your options, price and schedule sufficient time.

How many treatments are needed?

All Semi-Permanent Cosmetic procedures require 2 sessions.  A touch-up is highly recommend 4-6 weeks after your initial visit.  During your touch-up appointment we can assess your pigment retention and make any adjustments needed.  This also increases the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo.

How should I prepare for my procedure?

Feel free to bring in photos that show the shape and color you prefer.  You may also come in with your eyebrows filled in as you normally would do, which I can use as a reference for the color and shape.  If you regularly wax, shape, thread, or tint you eyebrows, please do so at least 3 days before your appointment.

You must not go tanning for 30 days prior to your procedure.

You must not use Retin-A near the tattooed area before or after your appointment.

You cannot take any medications that may thin you blood (i.e. Asprin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil,  Vitamin E) 72 hours before or immediately after you procedure.

Do not drink alcohol the night before or day of your procedure.

Avoid Caffeine the day of your appointment.

If you plan to go on vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.

How will I look immediately after?

Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days.  This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process.  Redness and swelling are minimal.

What should I do after the procedure?

I will provide you with aftercare instructions following your procedure. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results.  The most essential aftercare is to keep the treated area moist. DO NOT rub or pick the healing area as the color will peel off prematurely, and avoid extreme heat and contaminated bodies of water (such as saunas, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, pools, lakes, places with hot humidity)
